Hey Everyone! New to the group, and to the craft and lookin for a little guidance. I am trying to replicate a piece of silicone, and im looking for the best method for going about this. For reference, the piece(s) I am trying to replicate are similar to this Silicone Caps i found a picture of. Thats close enough to my actual example to whichever technique should work the same for. Thanks in advance for the help, and hoping to become a regular around here!!! Attachments:CAP.jfif (4.38 KB)

....Do you have a master yet? Once you have that, post a picture and we'll work off of that. From the looks of the picture that you posted a simple one piece mold will work. I'm presuming that the flat portion is not tolerance critical......in other words you could pour into your mold and the flat portion would be where the top of the mold would be and the liquid silicone would level out and cure.

i also just came across that stuff called "Amazing Remelt", and im thinking that doing a 2 piece mold with that stuff will probly work.

Remelt would work fine as you're pouring silicone into it (RC-3 gets too hot during curing to work well) but be aware that Remelt is still a silicone type and you should put some kind of release agent in it as "silicone only bonds to silicone" and it will stick a little to the silicone copy without the barrier of a release agent. Unless you only want to make one copy and don't mind having to wash off parts of the mold.
Now there is also Alumisol that you could use that should work the same way as the Remelt without it being a silicone type as it's a "plastic" type material - think soft gummy bear or soft fishing lure. I'm doing a little work with Alumisol myself but haven't fully put it through its paces like I have with the Remelt so I'm not completely sure of how it would hold up in the long run but I do know that it won't stick to silicone and is a bit stretchy.
