Hello.
I have been making some small polished blocks and cylinders with the Alumilite "Clear Slow" Product.
I would like to find a way to laser engrave a single line of text on the outside them.
An example would be very similar to the "dots" on a set of Dice; the laser engraver would cut into the resin about 1/32" and then I would need to fill the groove with permeant paint.
My main question: is this possible to do with the Clear Slow product?
And if so, which type or model of laser engraver should I be looking at?
Thank you!

Quick answer is : I don't know as I've never tried it and don't have a laser engraver to test it.
The biggest thing to understand is that all resins get "soft" when too much heat is applied and you could then essentially "shape" into it and then it would hold that shape when it cools but I don't think a laser engraver does that but I also don't really understand how a laser engraver works so it might work or it might not.
Now as I don't have a laser engraver, I personally would do it a different way - I would make a master with the text already on it, make a mold of that and cast the Clear Slow into that and pop out the casting with the text already in it and ready to go.
And if you'd really rather use an engraver, I'd say you'd just have to experiment with one to find out.
Unless we have someone on the forum who has one and can chime in? Can anyone else give some advice here?
