I am wanting to make a mold of a plastic skeleton I have. And after, I would like to cast it in silicone. What would be best to use for the mold? Silicone rubber or an air dry foam base? Also my main concern is the ribs on the figure. With the opening between the ribs, would that cause issues with the molding? Or would I need to close them off beforehand? Thanks

If you can , post a picture or pictures of the skeleton that you are wanting to cast......that will help a lot in determining which course of action to take. Also, some dimensions would help. It sounds like it could take multiple molds to make one complete skeleton dependent on how much detail is present. What I have seen in the past is that the smaller the skeleton the fewer the molds needed , larger the more needed.
