Hello all, i started using alumilite clear after it was recommended to me by someone. ive always used simlar 41 polyester resin prior. the problem ive run into is the the corners of my castins will sink down. i cast 3x5x2in blocks. any idea on the cause? i degass both A & B sides before mixing, then degas for 1 min after mixing. after i pour i pressurize the mold to 75psi.

Hello Harlequinnww,
It sounds like perhaps shrinkage from what you have described here. There will always be some amount of shrinkage in both the clear and the opaque resins, even a filled resin can have a very small amount of shrinkage.
We do have a new slow version of the Alumilite Clear that I am thinking might work better for you. It takes the exothermic reaction that happens while it is curing and allows it not to get so hot so quick by having the longer open time. This helps in shrinkage and possible fissures/cracks in the clear from the heat, especially for larger pours.
If there is any thing else we can help you with please give us a call...
Regards,
Carol

Dear Eve,
No they do not, they come in yellow. There are dyes available (we do not have them yet) for silicone. You would want to do a search for dyes for platinum cure silicone's Eve.

Carol
