Mold material for casting lead

Silicone's will eventually "burn out" even with an exothermic resin, low melt metals can be a bit tougher on them by giving you a shorter mold life due to some high heat. The best silicone to use is a platinum silicone like the Plat 55 (highly recommended to degas it) for your longest mold life... some fisherman use the platinum cure putty this would work best for single cavity molds as opposed to a multi-cavity mold. There are products/silicone's available from other sources that may produce longer mold life for high melt metals.
