Hey everyone I'm new here, I have never made anything in resin before. What I would like to do is in clear resin have a parrot tail feather. I know the feather will not take up much volume. The size of the mold I would like to create is going to be a 1 3/4 by 2 1/4 by 22 in Long. I was wondering what would be the best reasonably priced clear epoxy, resin, whatever I can use that can hold up some strength for what I'm going to use it for and also the amount I would need to purchase to be able to pour this.Thank you

I want to add that I will be cutting and shaping this after it has molded.

DRYF,
The epoxy can be purchased at many hobby stores, they are listed on our website, it is the Amazing Clear Cast. I think the best thing to try and the least expensive way to do it would be to put the feather on a board or plaque, seal the feather, then do the Amazing Clear Coat. The resin is thick and heavy would more than likely weigh down the feather and wet it out not leaving it spread out to display. It will be trick with the coating, you would definitely want to try it and practice... not on your parrot feather.
Just so you know to create a mold that size would be costly as well.
Warmest Regards,
Carol
