Morning all, New guy here. Have been trolling the threads for information about carbon fiber fill and couldn't really find anything. I am making bed trim for my truck and would like it to be tough as it will most likely be vibrated / etc. I saw the tungsten fill to add weight, but want to ensure it's tough enough to withstand abuse. I am currently using RC3 and assume I will have to use a harder resin. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mgerten,
You will need to add glass cloth for durability of these pieces to help them take the vibration and wear that is put on pick up beds. I think it would be best to not go with the harder resin as it will have less flex and could possibly crack. Performance 65 or 80D resins might be a good option here as they are tougher and have a longer open time to wet out the glass. You could also add milled glass fiber ... 1/32" strands that are all chopped up like hair to help strengthen the resin.
Have a wonderful day.
Regards,
Carol
