Good morning all, new to the forum!
I am in the process of making a stock for an airgun, and I am wanting to make a mold of this stock. I've made simple molds, but nothing this complicated... Not only would the mold have to capture the exterior detail, but also the inletting. I'm thinking a 3 piece mold or maybe even a 4 piece mold- 2 halves for the exterior, and 1 or two pieces for the inletting, top and bottom (if I did a 4 piece mold). However, I'm concerned with the pour... Will I have to have multiple pour spouts? Is that even a thing? I'm thinking the front and rear of the stock will be blocked off from each other due to the inletting. I don't want to make a solid stock and inlet the airgun later, because I don't have a way to easily or accurately inlet them, hence wanting to make a mold.
Another idea I had was to make a stock blank, cut it in half down the center, keep the two halves clamped together while doing the inletting and shaping, then make a simple 2 piece mold for each of the halves, then glue the two halves together. But I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not.

I would stick with your original thought of pouring it all in one shot. I'd stay away from pouring it in multiples and trying to adhere them together. I think you are asking for problems.
I know its not super easy to post a picture on this forum but if you can, it would be super helpful to be able to talk specifics. If you can't, please send a picture to world(at)alumilite(dot)com and we will take a look at it and hopefully respond with more specifics.
I can tell you the center hole that is in the stock will probably be molded using a solid dowel of some sort ... aluminum rod, steel bar, etc. That rod or insert into your mold will make "molding" the inside easy. The only issue is making sure to incorporate that into the 2 piece mold so it stays perfectly centered. Hope that makes sense.
Having multiple pour holes is not an issue but you will more than likely also have multiple vents as well to allow the air to release. I'm sorry I can't be any more specific at this point until I see some pictures to make sure I'm not misleading you.
