As the subject says, I like to use Amazing Remelt in place of clay when doing two piece molds. What I've been casting a lot of is custom action figures in specific poses and clay just seems to make a big mess in all those little cracks and crevices they have and while the Remelt does get in the same areas, I can at least pull it out easier. And when it doesn't want to come out, my handy dandy hair dryer set on a low temp warms it up enough to drip right out. Plus the mold release (most times it's cooking spray) I put on the Remelt before pouring the liquid mold rubber (for half of the two piece mold) wipes right off. So here's another use for the Remelt for those who don't like clay stuck in those tiny spots or are leery of using clay in regards to the material their master is made of (clay can mess some things up depending on the material).

Notoes,
That is great information to share, very creative and I can see where it would be a lot less hassle then working with the clay sometimes.
We are going to actually try it here at Alumilite... Notoes.
Again, thank you for sharing we love to here tips and tricks with all the products that people have found that works. It saves time and sometimes
money for others not to have to learn by trial and error.
Happy Halloween.
Regards,
Carol

I like this idea, I've only made one 2 pc. mold so far but I sure think remelt would be easier and with better parting lines. I hope to pick some up tomorrow. Thanks for sharing! -Terry

You're welcome. It works very well and is very easy to remove. Just make sure you have enough remelt to cover all the areas you want covered.
