I have run into a problem that I haven't seen before. After a few casts, 8-9 at the most, the cast part is pulling part of the mold out with it and ruining the mold. I am casting 1/24 scale tires and wheels and so far I've had one mold pull the tire tread out of the mold in places. The other mold had the wheel the wheel detail pulled out on about a third of the wheel. After my first mold being wrecked I started using the mold release after the first few casts to help the part come out of the mold but that didn't help. I'm using high strength 3 base or RC-3 for the mold and slow set 7 minute for the casting material. The last time I cast the wheel I used Alumilite rubber to rubber mold release on the whole mold and let the cast cure for approximately 3 hours. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tracy

I am basically doing the same thing that you are in 1:25 You must use baby powder on the mold ...I think that there is a video some where on the Alumilite site....a lite dusting is all. I have never had any issues with doing this and there is no powder left on the resin piece.

Thanks for the info I'll give it a try next time I cast some tires. I need to make a new mold for now.
