Could alumilite clear be poured into a 2 part vac 50 tooling resin mold instead of silicone trying to make a bunch of molds. Also would vac 50 get good detail and durability, and need mold release sprayed being 2 part mould. Thanks

Kyle,
I don't know that anyone has done that... but I don't believe it would be the best choice for a mold with the Alumilite Clear. They are both urethane's and of course urethane's bond to everything but silicone so a good silicone release like our Stoner would have to be applied very well. I think that could create too much hazing/frosting of the resin, leaving a residue on your pieces (to be cleaned), and you would/could lose some of your clarity.
The best product to use for the Clear resin is the platinum based silicone's (they do need to be degassed) all in all this is the choice for most who cast with the Clear (polyurethane) resins. Remembering that the VAC 50 or a rigid mold would have no flexibility for the demolding process, so any back drafts or undercuts could give a demolding issue of your pieces. In this case I think you would obtain your best results with silicone that don't require any releases.
Regards,
Carol
