I've been using Amazing Mold Rubber for a few years now, I got through about 10 boxes of it per year. Needing to make a quick mold for a small part, I went to a kit I had bought a few months ago, I had only poured two small molds from it so there's at least 1/2 of it left. When I picked up the catalyst I noticed it had separated or crystallized somehow? Its nearly a full bottle that was bought at the end of April, I had bought two kits at that time, so I went to the second kit and the catalyst in that one too had begun to harden up. It appeared to harden up from the middle outward, the center had a round dark pink part with basically clear liquid surrounding it in the bottle. I tried to shake it back up but it didn't mix, it just made a grainy looking mix. I went out today and got another kit for the task at hand but can I buy just catalyst so I don't waste the other pound and a half of silicone rubber?
I've had this stuff sit around for a lot longer and still be fine, open or not. Only the last few batches I bought have done this. I buy most of my kits online, the nearest place I can get it locally is an hour away one way.
