I am attempting to cast a resin Buddha head. My challenge is the shape of the bottom of the head. It is not flat so that silicone will flow under it. Any idea what I can use to fill the gap? Tape? TIA

What I have used in situations like this is a small amount of modeling clay on the bottom or to suspend/hang the piece that I am making a mold of from the top.....use CA (super glue) to attach a tooth pick to the piece to be molded and then use my elevated clamp holder to hold the tooth pick with the attached piece aprox. a 1/4" off of the bottom of the mold box.

Jo-Ann, Brian is right, thank you Brian. There is a great tutorial on the website on how to make a two piece mold. It gives tips that help to make your mold everything you need it to be. www.alumilite.com/PDFs/Printables/How%20to%20make%20molds/Two-Piece-Mold.pdf. If there is anything else Jo-Ann please let us know or post in here there are a lot of very experienced mold makers and casters that have some very valuable input. We love to hear and see pictures of some amazing pieces from some true artist, crafty, and talented people that are done with Alumilite Products. Have a wonderful Monday. Regards, Carol
