After doing a little research, I think I can solve my problem of providing my 3D printed part with a slick color and make it food safe, by: - Mixing Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast with a combination of white dye and my chosen color (likely blue), and apply two or more layers to fill in holes and striations
- Use pure Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast for a final, glossy, food safe coating
I want to avoid acquiring both clear cast and white cast epoxies if I can rather use white dye in the clear cast A side to prime it for an opaque color. Although the problem noted by another user here, that green cures to blue with the clear cast resin.
Also, I suppose that the clear cast is only guaranteed food safe without mixing in colors (observed on resin obsession's forum), hence the final clear coat.
Any comments?

Yeah, your process looks good. Warming up the material to 120F will allow you to put a thinner coat on your print and will also help it cure a little more quickly.

Would 120 F be a good curing temperature after the application of a layer?

Yes, it would be a great temp to cure it under. Just remember the viscosity is pretty thin at that temp and will have more a tendancy to run or sag before it cures.
