I'm new to using amazing clear cast resin. I'm in need some advice. I made enough to cover 4 table legs on small table. I added some glow in the dark powder too, the powder is white and glows dark blue. The issues is it still feels tacky enough to see your finger prints after 4 days.
Is there a way to save my table? I still need to pour resin on the table top. Should I pour my top and cover the tacky legs as well. This table is a gift and I need to save it if possible. Thank you for your suggestions and time.

I recently helped some college students who were making a table ... I'm sure to study on ... and their second pour was completely tacky whereas their first coat had a beautiful gloss and cure. Both pours were out of the same containers. After looking at the second coating and feeling the tack, their were swirls all the way through the layer even though it looked pretty clear. Simply put, in an attempt to either not introduce air bubbles or they were simply in a hurry, they did not mix it well enough and the entire second layer was partially cured ... some areas a little better than others but for the most part, it was tacky almost everywhere.
The easiest way to determine IF it is a mix issue is to look at it using good light to see if the surface looks like glass or if there are streaks, swirls, or lines that deflect the light. When mixed thoroughly and coated, the surface should be completely smooth as it will cure to the air. The only swirl or thick areas would be caused by gravity such as a drip. Otherwise it should be completely smooth and glossy.
The fix for the students was to simply measure, thoroughly mix, and pour a 3rd batch of Amazing Clear Cast. It coated, covered, and cured the tacky layer and created a beautiful top that they will be able to study on for a very long time.
When mixing, be sure to stir until all swirls are gone in your mix bucket. This is tougher to see when you have powder in it so I'd recommend mixing it completely ... no swirls, scrape the sides ... you will then see some swirls, stir until those swirls are gone, then scrape the sides again ... stir again until all swirls and gone ... THEN when you are completely satisfied with your mix ... then and only then add your powder and mix again thoroughly. Thoroughly does not mean vigorously as that can introduce unwanted air.
You will not need to add any more powder. All you need to do is get a good coating that will crosslink with the tacky surface, coat, and encapsulate your first glow in the dark layer. The powder will show through your second layer.

I'm working on insulated metal mugs with mica powder mixed into my resin. All but one have dried beautifully. One, which of course is my very favorite, has not dried. It's been about a week and is still tacky. Is there a fix or do I remove the resin and start fresh. If so, what is the process? Help!
