I'm looking to cast a fake monster tongue out of Alumisol Soft Plastic for a costume. Obviously it will end up going in my mouth, and remain there for varying periods of time. Would this be safe to do? I've read over the msds info provided, but all of the toxicological information is listed as "Not Available." I'd imagine it's non toxic since it's frequently used to make fishing lures, but I'd like to know for sure, whether or not it would be harmful to put an object cast from Alumisol in my mouth.
All help is appreciated.

I would not recommend using Alumisol for a tongue that you would put in your mouth. You could use our Plat 10. It would still be very soft but it would not be as limber as the Alumisol. The Plat 10 is FDA compliant whereas the Alumisol is not.

I am trying to use the amazing mold putty to mold some clay i want into and Oreo though, i read the directions thoroughly and your directions say it can be toxic. so if its toxic and im using it to mold my object would the exposure of the toxic cause my object to be toxic too? Another question i have is it only toxic when wet? Also is the object i make with the mold when it dries safe for kids? I know this is alot of questions but if you could let me know as soon as you can that would be great. thanks!

I saw you posted your question in 2 spots. Sorry if we were slow in responding ...
The mold putty is considered non-toxic. It is safe to use. I'm not sure where you read that it was toxic? It is the same type of chemistry used to make dental impression material. And then once the mold has been mixed and completely cured it is compliant with FDA standards for contact with food.
The mold putty should not contaminate or make anything toxic.

I want to use the Alumisol for something that will be in contact with the skin for several hours at a time. Is there anything toxic in this product that would be a cause for concern?

Reviewed the Safety Data Sheets again and there are no reportable/hazardous materials found in Alumisol. So there is no reason why this would be an issue. However, people have different skin sensitivities than others so if there is any sign of irritation, I would recommend removing it but there is nothing in Alumisol that would give us any reason to believe it would be an issue.
