My wife and I purchased a $30 (after tax) Alumilite Amazing Mold Rubber kit from Michael's a few days ago.
When we got the product home from the store, we went to use ut right away. The base was thicker than school glue and the catalyst was not liquid but in a goopy chunky consistency.
We thought it would be ok to use as is because we do resin pour molds and epoxy tumblers as a side job... so we are used to bases and hardners that can be like what we see with your product after we opened it for the first time.
The mold wouldn't set and one of our products we were trying to cast to get a better mold for longer use...is now ruined and destroyed.
We went on YouTube and checked online forums to see if we did anything wrong and every video we watched had the catalyst as a dark pinkish color that poured in a consistency almost like water (very easy pour) unlike ours.
The product we orchard at Michael's and used the very same day we bought it had a catalyst that was a chunky, clear transparent very light pink (not dark pink like we saw in YouTube videos) and we had to squeeze the catalyst bottle hard to get any thing out and it came out in globs...no easy flow pour state at all.
We attempted to return the product back to Michael's and they said that since it was opened we can't return nor exchange it.
We are seeing fully white labels on the bottles inside the kit on every youtube video online but our bottle labels looks different.
We have pics of the bottles and kit we purchased as well as the lot number on bottom of box.
The lot number on bottom of our box is:
76499202201
Hopefully that can be used to help and see if something is wrong with this lot of products, how long is been at the store, and if it's too old to used (past it's used by timeframe)
If there is anything your company can do to help us with this issue, please let us know.
