Hi guys I'm hoping someone can give me a little help with this. I've never done casting before and I need to make some copies of this vintage speaker connector button. It is approx 20mm x 12mm with quite thin walls (0.85mm - 1.0mm). I've had a look at some tutorials with people making hollow parts, but none have parts quite like this with detail inside. Is it even possible? I would assume I need a two part mold but do I need to make filler holes/vent holes? I saw one video where the guy poured the casting material into the outer mold, then pushed the inner mold into it forcing the material up into the voids. Would that technique work here? Also, I know there are dyes you can add when casting but can you mix dyes to get an exact colour? I'd like to replicate the original colours. Sorry for so many questions but I really don't know where to start.

Yes a two part mold is what you need to make. I'd put the pour hole on that piece in the middle that sticks up and maybe a couple more along the top edges so that once the casting is poured, you can just snip off any excess.
Be sure to carefully clean all dust, dirt, and oils off the button before you go making the mold. A little soap on a rag or paper towel should work fine and be sure to dry it afterwards. When casting the mold, "brush on" some of the mold material onto the master (the button you're making a copy of) before pouring into the mold box so that you can prevent some bubbles from appearing on the surface of the master when you cast the copy.
I'd position the master upright with that slanted edge on the bottom. You can do that type of "injection" with a two part mold but I'd also make sure to "brush" on a thin layer of the casting material over the surface of the mold first.
Yes you should be able to mix the dyes to get the color you want, just be sure to mix them into Side A before mixing in Side B so that you have enough time to pour once you have the color you want.
No, the more questions you have the better your molding experience will go - we've all had to start somewhere and it's no problem answering any questions you may have.

Thank you, that was just the kind of info I wanted. What about the actual materials? Given the name of this forum, I assume you guys use Alumilite materials. I have looked at their video on choosing silicone and it looks like I should use Plat 55 for the mold, and I was looking at Amazing Casting Resin for the cast? Would these be suitable for my requirements?

Right on both accounts. Though if you want to see the part inside of the mold, I'd use the Plat 25 as it's more of a see-through silicone. I (finally) have a vacuum chamber and my molds come out extremely clear (depending on the surfacing of the mold box it comes in contact with) and I can clearly see through them.
