Hello
can somebody give me advice concerning casting an object made of flexible polyethylene? The original I want to copy is made of flexible polyethylene, that is why I want to use the same material.
Does somebody have experience in casting with this material?
Can somebody suggest the best procedure I could apply?
Do I have to pressure-mold it with heath?
Do I need to use PE-LLD for this?
I should be very grateful for some advice.
Thanks
Joellle

If you're using one of the Flex series and a silicone mold, I'd definitely make sure to use a release agent on the mold. And be sure that the mold isn't the same stuff as the original, use either a silicone or a hard mold - if you use the same stuff as the mold material you have a good chance of them bonding together even if you use a release agent between them.
I'm not sure how to pressure-mold it with heath or what PE-LLD is.

Hello notoes Thank you very much for your good adivce.
PE-LLD is linear low- density polyethylene, a form of polyethylene that is the most elastic one. By pressure- molding I mean a procedure when you not only pour the material into the mold, but apply pressure to press it inside. With heath is, when you heat the material before you press it inside the mold.
I will try it the way you suggest. All the best in the new year for you!
