Hello,
I have a project that is very thin (about 1/16th inch), and I have found I need a rather large sprue to get my castings to come out. Is there a way I can polish out the area after cutting off the sprue and cleaning up so that it is nearly as smooth and transparent as the rest of the casting? I am using Amazing Clear Cast with some light dye. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Monicah,
It is much more difficult with the clear resins than the opaques not to alleviate a witness mark or to do clean ups and/or sanding. The Amazing Clear Cast is a little more difficult than the other two clears to smooth, polish, and sand in the application you are attempting.
I think possibly the best way to attempt it would/could be is to put a think layer of new clear cast over the area where the sprue has been removed. We would love to here the results and see pictures Monicah of your pieces that may tell us more how the sprue is as well.
Please call if you have anymore questions.
Have a nice day!
Regards,
Carol
