I recently poured a desktop, and had a little snafu with creating the edge. Instead of using aluminum to dam it, I used primed pine. I got everything off without a problem luckily, and now I have a new piece of molding butted up against the top as a finished piece. There’s a very small gap in between the molding and the top. By the time this gets answered it will be over 48 hours since the initial pour. Is there a way to make a thin layer of resin and brush it on, I don’t mind if he gets on the molding but will it cure flat and inconspicuous to the existing top?

Yes you can do a thin layer and it will bond just fine.
