i am trying to create a water bladder (like a camelbak)... i am going to use your clear cast which says it is food safe. i am planning on using it to attach a plastic garden hose male end to the nylon material. i am wondering if the clear cast will bond to the plastic and the nylon. also, as i understand it, curing resins can produce heat. do you know how much heat this particular resin creates? i'm wondering if it will melt or deform my plastic garden hose male attachment. alternately, i could cast a male garden hose attachment out of clear cast, then i would only have to worry about it bonding to the nylon.
thanks,
john

The heat/exotherm of a part that size will not generate much heat ... probably not even 120F ... so I do not expect any issue with melting the plastic. Bonding ... nothing likes to bond to Nylon however by scuffing it up a little as well as adding any mechanical locks in the casting where the resin will flow into and potentially mechanically lock to itself (like small holes drilled through) ... this would allow it to hopefully chemically and mechanically bond to the substrates.

Thanks so much for your reply! I will try the holes. It is nylon fabric, so I'm guessing i could just poke holes. That will also help the resin flow to both sides of the fabric.

That will give you a mechanical bond. Hopefully the fabric accepts the resin and allows it to wick in and wet out the cloth which will give you even better adhesion. Some cloth has that characteristic and some seem to repel liquids and the wetting out process.
Let us know how it works. thx, Mike
