Can you use alumilite dyes for colorant when anodizing aluminum?

Okay that's not something I've experimented on doing and haven't heard of anyone doing this so there is no telling if it would work or not. Has anyone else tried this?

The anodizing process of Aluminum involves the Aluminum piece being immersed in an acidic electrolyte solution and passing an electric current thru the Aluminum piece .....long answer short, no
