Been using clear cast for couple years on wood and resin turnings. Mixing by wieght and stirring by paddle in electric drill after warming to roughly 95 degrees in warm water. Stir for 3 minutes let sit for 3 minutes and then add mica powder for color and then stir for another 3 minutes and then pour and put I pressure pot overnight to cure. Using carbide cutters to turn, usually get nice thin ribbons of resin but without changing depth of cut will start to get chipping during cut. Some of the chips are pretty deep 1/4 inch can’t figure out why it’s happening. Anyone have any ideas.

Sounds like your setup is good. I have turned thousands of items from just about every type of resin out there. Make sure you are running your lathe at TOP speed and that your cutter head is slightly above center when engaging the tool. Also, I find that I get the "rough chips" if using a spear tip type tool instead of the round tool. I turn mostly bottle stoppers and Tap handles now. I find that I get aggressive cascading chip out if I get a little too aggressive.
