Hi, I am new to this forum and casting resin.
I have a plastic part from an old Hard drive I am trying to replace with a casted part as it is broken. I have poured to castings so far using Alumilite Amazing Casting Resin. The issue I am having is they are flexible... almost like dense rubber. I am sure I measured properly.
Are there any tips you guys can offer to help make stiff parts? Anything you believe I might have done wrong?

Hello FlyMario,
Since this must be a thin piece from what you have said it is recommended to warm the mold "prior" to pouring the resin. You can warm the mold ONLY in the microwave just until it is good and warm to the touch, probably 45-60 seconds depending on your microwave wattage. You can even do a post cure sitting it somewhere on top of a warm surface 120F for ten minutes or so, after it has cured enough to move your mold.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks! I will try that. Yes, it is a fairly thin part to replace a part on a 1970's floppy drive. I have two drives so I am trying to duplicate the part from the good drive. You have a great weekend too.
