This is my first attempt even playing with resin, so this is almost certainly a “newbie” error.
I bought the Amazing Clear Cast resin and clear coating kit with a silicone sphere mold from Michael’s. Followed the instructions, stirred the two parts together until clear (no swirls), made a nice mess trying to pour the mix into the tiny hole in the sphere mold, then left it alone for 24 hours. Came back the next day and removed my ball from the mold. It was yellow. However, the leftover resin I left in my stir cup (about 1/4 inch) came out perfectly clear. So I’m pretty sure the issue wasn’t with the resin being old or whatever. My guess is that the size of the sphere mold (about the size of a tennis ball) somehow caused the issue since the thinner “leftover mold” looked just fine. Or the mold I bought was somehow to blame (possibly low quality or something).
Any ideas on what I did wrong? Maybe I just need to fill the sphere mold in batches rather than all at once (like fill it 1/4 of the way, wait 12-24 hours then add more, repeat)?

Actually that sounds like the mold might be the problem if the leftover was clear. Usually when there is leftover it will be the same color as what is poured unless there is something in the mold that changed the makeup of it. So let's go over a couple things to narrow down the problem:
1) Did you wash the mold before using it? Sometimes a mold will have a "film" on it from manufacturing or sitting in the store or both. 2) Did you use some kind of release agent on the mold? Sometimes certain ones might have a little color in them that you may not notice until the casting is demolded.
Also a trick you can try for helping to pour into a smaller hole is to cut the bottom out of a small disposable plastic cup, twist and overlap the bottom to form a funnel, and tape it so it holds a funnel shape. Or if you happen to have a small funnel you don't mind tossing afterwards, use that. Or if you have a small silicone funnel that you can set aside just for non-food use, you can use that too.
