The part of the cast exposed to the open air gets hard as it should but the parts of the cast directly against the mold always comes out slightly tacky. Is this normal? Does the cast just need to sit out exposed to the open air?
The cast is a 1.5" diameter coin, 1/4" thick and i always wait about 2 days before removing.

Which resin is it? The Clears do this until it hits full cure but RC-3 doesn't.

Then yes it will come out tacky until it hits full cure at seven days. All the Clears do this, they will cure enough to demold after a day or two then hit full cure when exposed to the air in seven days. Now if it's still tacky past the seven days, please let us know as that may indicate a problem with the resin itself.
