Hello all. I am new to casting and am interested in casting thin wall model car bodies. What Alumilite products would be best for making the molds and the casting itself? I am currently modifying a 10L paint pot to use as a pressure pot. I could also modify it into a vacuum chamber, but would have to acquire a pump if it is really a necessity. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips. Greg.

I've poured some 1/25 bodies myself.....never found it necessary to use a pressure pot or vacuum chamber...be careful of what the youtube videos may be spewing out. For the RTV silicone I use HS-2 ....I have used HS-3 in the past but found that the HS-2 is firmer and less apt to cause difference in the body thickness, particularly if it is a 2 part mold. For resin I pour RC-3 I clean what ever I have poured with warm water and Dawn dish washing soap before shooting with primer. Do body prep as you would normally before shooting your base coat(s)
