Hello! I am brand new to the forum and very excited to get into resin casting. I do have a question about mold prep prior to casting.
I'm planning on prepping the mold using Stoner Release then dusting it with talc. The Alumilite casting instructions recommend warning the mold in a microwave for 1 minute per pound which in my case would be 135 seconds.
My question is.....should I warm the mold first, then spray mold release and dust with talc? Or should I spray the mold release, dust with talc then warm the mold?
I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question....I'm just trying to do things right.
BTW.....the mold has a lot of deep, intricate details....hence the use of mold release and talc.
Thanks!

I spray and dust before warming......my line of thinking is that the mold is cooling while I spray and dust after warming.

You can also warm the mold on an old, not for food, griddle and can even leave the mold on it while your casting is curing.
