Hello hello! My name is Eyo. I have a dream of one day making custom soft/rubbery weird animals of my own.
I have never done any kind casting, so I realize my dream is far off and some day, so I need to start small.
I've been looking up casting kits, but I was wondering if I could get any advice on where to begin.
I've kind of broken down the steps I need to take to eventually get to my goal:
* Learn how to cast * Learn how to mold * Learn how to cast using the material I want to use * Learn which paints to use for the material I want * Learn how to airbrush
Besides beginning, any suggestions for what kind of things/materials to keep in mind on my journey would be appreciated <3
Thanks Eyo <3

Welcome, you have come to the right place. Alumilite has a couple kits you can get to get your feet wet and test out the waters or you can just jump right in if you already have an idea of what you'd like to work with. Alumilite also has a lot of good guidelines under the Learn tab on their website and if you have questions or problems you just ask them here.
Great step breakdown, you've got half the battle by being able to list your goals. I'd like to add a couple for you - who will be using this animals and how will they use them?
If they're to be used/played with by kids that might put them in their mouths, I'd suggest a food grade silicone. But if they're just for display then one of the non-food grades or even the Flex line would work fine. You've also got to think of the safety of what you make when you make it for others. Unless you're just going to make them for yourself?

Hallo! Thanks for replying <3
The animals are mostly for adults, maybe kids, who want to collect and hold them. I like blobulous marine animals, but you can't really hold them, since they turn into jelly once they get to the surface. Food grade is a great thing to keep in mind in general
I will check out those kits, thank you!
