My husband and I make custom fishing rods and have used acrylics and stabilized wood. I’ve decided to try pouring my own and had success with one. But on the others I have white spots all over the turned blanks. These don’t appear when they are taken out of the molds. It looks like snow all over the pieces. Was wondering if this could be the pearl I used in these blanks, or possibly not getting them under pressure quick enough? The blank getting too hot during turning or wet sanding? Any ideas or answers are greatly appreciated, I just hate the thought of 3 ruined handle sets and I’m hoping to prevent this in the future.
Need more info. 1. Which resin did you use? Alumilite makes many different types. 2. Where in your process does the snow occur? After turning? After sanding? Any problems with pressure should be obvious when you demolded, so that's ok.
