Hello I have hit a snag recently, I have 4 dye red, blue, green and orange all Alumilite brand. So far all but one work perfectly, the green mixes in green but cures blue, any green simply fades away. Yet the dye stains mixing cups green and my hobby mat. Yet no matter what comes out blue as if the yellow vanishs.
I was also curious if there's a way to lighten the dye colors? I would love a clear vibrant pink but its always more red and without a clear white type color I can't just lighten it and not change orange or purple.

Sev051,
Good Morning! Are you putting the dyes in the Amazing Clear Cast? The Amazing Clear Cast has a slight yellow hue in it and that often times with the green will give people a blue or blue/green as opposed to green. The green works fine in all the other resins, we have been looking into a solution so people will be able to have a green cast.
The best way to lighten the colors is by the amount you use. The dyes are very concentrated, so a little goes a long way. A vibrant pink, has been achieved by using the Flo Red (very small amount) can give a pink.
Regards,
Carol

Thanks! I feel kinda silly, ordered two clear cast not realizing this, let alone the fact its a bit softer. So now I need to buy normal clear but have one unopened box of cast that I gotta figure out what to do with.
Will putting the flo Red in resin still allow transparency or would it make it more of a solid pink?

I just started using the "clear resin" and wanted to make a solid yellow ring...all I can get is a translucent yellow. Is this possible to make a solid color using "clear cast"? Thanks

Yes, but you have to add White Dye to it first. The White dye contains titanium dioxide which is a solid white particle which will add opacity. Then you can add your yellow dye to make an opaque yellow casting using the Amazing Clear Cast.
Good question. Mike

I purchased the dye package. What's the difference in the regular dye and the Flo Dye. Obviously one is brighter in the bottle but I'd like to know if they should be used in different ways. Thanks for your help and thanks for the AMAZING products!

Thanks for your help and thanks for the AMAZING products! The Flo is fluorescent dye. It's going to give you a brighter affect. So if you want fluorescent colors then it's excellent for that.

While we are on this subject. I actually have a question. Is there anywhere here on the site that has information on mixing alumilite pigments to achieve different colors? One color I would love to be able to make is olive drab or military green. Any information on mix ratios or combinations would be appreciated.

It might be under the specific pigments pages on the data sheets but as I don't use the dyes and pigments I wouldn't know for sure. If you find it or a good guideline, please let us know.
