Hi, First time poster. I have recently got into the resin casting hobby. My problem is that after 24 hours my Alumilite Water Clear cures soft enough to mark with my fingernail. My process is as follows: - With a .01 gram scale I weigh X amount of A. (I've tried between 10-20g of each part)
- I then add part B to the same mixing pot until I have X*2.
- With a tongue depressor or other similar mixing implement I mix A+B together for ~2-3 minutes.
- I fill my molds
- I place into a pressure pot @40 psi for 24 hours and keep in my closet. I live in Southern California so I don't imagine the pot is subjected to extreme hot or cold temperatures (from the outside)
- I demold
Will Alumilite Water Clear cure hard enough to not be markable by a fingernail or should I look for a different resin. Do I need to mix larger batches (more than 20g of A and 20g of B). Do I need to mix for longer? The first time I pulled a mold out of the pressure pot at 3.5 hours it was practically still wet despite a demold time of 2-4 hours. Really looking to solve this mystery. Will try to provide more information if requested. Thanks. Attachments:

I think I may know why it did that - the Clears takes a lot longer to fully cure and it's not fully cured yet. I've worked a little with them and have had them come out "tacky" after 24 hours and after they hit full cure they're hard as a rock and smooth like they should be. It's just a matter of time to let them hit full cure and they should be fine. A little heat will speed the cure up too but don't add too much or you'll chance burning or discoloring them. Give it a couple days and let us know if you still have any problems with it.
