Tony,
There are many who make paperweights and embed any number of things. There are multiple ways of embedding it is best to let the first layer gel so the object will suspend prior to your second layer. Recommended not to wait too long between layers as that way you can build up layers without any apparent line afterwards hopefully.
I seen a picture of a piece before where it was done in multiple colored layer (parfait look) with different pieces in each layer/color it was beautifully done. Please remember the clear MUST be degassed to have no bubbles, as well whatever you are embedding should be moisture free as the moisture will/can react to the urethane resin.
The other resin we have that can be done (recommended) 1/8" layers is the Amazing Clear Cast, not so imperative to degas with equipment people do use that for embedding too Tony. I have heard many different ways people embed with good results, I do believe that some "UTUBERS" have put some interesting applications on the internet for encapsulating pieces.
If you have more questions or need to hear it in more depth, please feel free to call.
Warmest Regards,
Carol
