I am trying to create a white layer with a 2 part epoxy resin with a 1 to 1 ratio. Inside of this layer I will place LED lights that I want to shine through and dissapate through the white resin layer pour. However, looking at the tutorials with the dyes on youtube it looks like the dye is far to solid to allow any transparency. Is this true or can I get a much more transparent color with using less dye?

Some people use talcum powder for "milky" looking resin. you can try the white opaque, but start with very little. it doesnt take much. just experiment

Ryan,
We did some test with the white resin and light penetration through it in very thin sections, if you would like to see the pictures please email me at carol@alumilite.com Ryan. Car restorers in years past have used the white in thin cross sections for dome light in older cars when they had the white plastic over the light Ryan.
Ryan of course with the clear it is going to be very bright light, with a small amount of white dye. The Clear is more involved as far as degassing the resin, you would need scales, and a few other requirements in using Clear as opposed to the opaque resins.
Have a great day!
Regards,
Carol
