I am working on a product that is a approx 6" x 10" x 6". It is designed for Flex 80 (or maybe 60 or 70 depending on how it works out) and so that the part can be removed from a permanent hard mold.
I can use aluminum, but that is a large chunk of aluminum. Not to mention machining cost
I was thinking of using foamed Polyethylene, which I know works good with the Flex series resins, but I can only get it in 3/4" thick sheets and it cannot be glued together, so I would have to mechanically fasten which is not the best to ensure mold integrity.
The other option I was thinking was tooling board. I assume Flex 30 would attach to urethane board? But maybe not to epoxy. Anyone have any experience with tooling board for urethane rubber part molding?
I am looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance

Tooling board will work fine but any type of tool that is porous needs to be sealed and released ... tooling board included. Paste wax and then a spray release like Stoner would be sufficient as you are correct, the Flex series elastomers will want to bond to it and anything else that is not silicone or naturally resistant to adhesion like PE, PP, etc.
