This is my first try to mold and turn a small bowl with Alumilite Clear with some stabilized wood. I measured as exactly as I could and used a pressure pot. When I started turning some part gave long smooth cuts but other parts was very brittle, is that normal? Or could something be wrong with the resin or how I turn it? I use the Easy wood turning tools.

This was before my time so I don't know why it wasn't replied to. Have you had the same problem and need an answer?

I'm having a similar problem. I didn't buy into the pressure pot, and my casting is much smaller (approx 20g after mixing A&B). But the end result is very porous and brittle. The resin also expanded as it cured, which was unexpected.

I think it got moisture contamination if it foamed up. The only time I've personally seen it to foam up is when there is moisture in it.
