Hi, I am looking to replicate a motor cycle lens and have looked on the forum and you advise using Alumilite clear or water clear resin. In the U.K, the only one which is available seems to be Amazing Clear Cast which seems to have a longer de-mould time etc is this the same as the other products (or similar) and if not do you have a source for the clear or water clear in the U.K? Many thanks Roy

Hello Roy,
When making lenses Roy, the Alumilite Clear seems to be the resin of choice, along with the Water Clear, both urethane resins. The Amazing Clear Cast is an epoxy, not the product that is best suited for lenses. There is a good tutorial on our website on doing lenses with and without equipment that could be of benefit to you prior to ordering. If you have not seen it yet I would suggest reading it.
We do have a couple of dealers in the UK, who are willing to special order products for projects/applications for our customers in the UK. You can find their listings on the website: dealers/international.
If you would like a shipping quote for purchasing direct, please email me at carol@alumilite. I would be glad to get you shipping rates (the rate will not include duties, taxes, brokerage, or other fees you may incur when products are delivered to you). I can get you both USPS and FEDEX, you can then make a decision. Roy I would suggest before shipment cost for direct order check first with someone in the UK and see if the cost is in your best interest to purchase locally.
Best,
Carol

Thanks Carol, I will spend some time on the phone tomorrow (most people have now gone home in the U.K) and see what reaction I get. If all else fails then I will email you back. Have a good day. Kind Regards Roy
