- Problem Due To Inadequate Mixing Instruction Resulting In Compromised Resin -
I recently purchased your Alumilite Regular Black.
I read your several different instructions on the correct measuring, mixing a pouring techniques .
The instructions stated to shake both A & B parts. The "A" bottle had a sticker that stated, "Shake Well". One would assume that Part "A" needed to be more thoroughly shaken than Part "B".
I did shake both and because of the warning regarding the Part "A" I did shake for a longer time.
I mixed the material, a four ounce patch, two ounces each part "A" & "B". I thoroughly mixed for about 30 seconds
I poured the project and when I removed the cast object I found a very poor and oily casting. My first thought was that I did not mix the two parts well enough.
I decided to try another casting. When I looked at the "B" bottle I noticed that there was a separation of the chemicals. It looked as if there was a layer of this oil floating on top. This separation was not apparent when the bottle was full. Since the bottle is not clear and the way the neck is shaped. If it had been apparent I would have shaken the material for a much longer time.
I'm thinking now that since I already used two ounces form the "B" bottle and that material is now not correctly mixed in the correct proportions I have compromised the composition of this material. Which would result in any subsequent casting being of poorer quality. Now that the bottle was not full to the top I could see the results of shaking the material. I noted that it required shaking vigorously for a very long time in order to completely emulsify the material.
I've concluded that I am not fully to blame here. Your instructions, (several sources) your labeling (the sticker only on part "A") and your choice of containers (the plastic bottles). all led to this problem. Your instruction to the end user should have emphasized the importance if thoroughly shaking both parts. Your emphases was mainly directed to just the Part "A" bottle.
Because of your lack of adequate mixing instructions, which resulted in my now having compromised material, feel you should send me a replacement. Additionally I highly suggest that you correct your instruction and labeling for this product.
