I'm interested in adding weight to pieces that will be cast with Alumilite clear and I'm concerned that the powder may be visible. I'll be casting mainly translucent tubes in a wide variety of colors. I'm assuming your tungsten powder is dark gray to black in color and while the darker dyed tubes may hide the powder grains, I'm concerned that lighter colors may show the powder. I'd like to use the powder in concentrations of 0.25-0.5 ounces of tungsten to 1 ounce of clear resin.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, the Tungsten will absolutely show through any our clear casting resins. And yes, it is and appears in the resin as a dark gray color.
Could you pour a layer a the bottom of the tube which would be opaque, then use straight Alumilite Clear on top of it?
