I would like to start to make some pen blanks with the Alumilite clear, or the Alumilite clear slow. I have not made the investment of a pressure pot as yet. I have made a vacuum chamber using a converted air compressor and a large spaghetti pot with a clear lid. I am able to get 21 in. of vacuum but I am not sure if that will be enough.

David,
It won't be enough, a full vacuum is needed at 29" to degass the Alumilite Clear. Pressure (40-50PSI) is typically what the pen turners use for their art, it works quite well. There is a great tutorial on our website about the Alumilite Clear and a video too. I know that on UTUBE I have seen some great videos using our products and pen turning.
Please always feel free to call as well David, anyone here would be happy to answer your questions and help you! I am always amazed at the pens I see pictures of ... there are some very talented turners!
Regards,
Carol
