I use Ice Resin and when I take my cured pieces out of molds made with Alumilite Amazing Mold Rubber they are still tacky. I'm very confident with resin (I've been using it for almost 10 years) and know I mixed it well. Other silicone molds were used with extra resin from the same batch that was poured into the Alumilite molds and those pieces came out completely cured with no tackiness. The Alumilite molds themselves aren't tacky so I don't know why the pieces aren't curing. Do I need to add cornstarch and/or heat the molds to 125F before I cast? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Was it a new Amazing Mold Rubber mold or was it a mold you had cast in before?
Yes ... heat and baby powder would help surface tension and cure of most resins.
Have you tried either the Amazing Casting Resin or Amazing Clear Cast in the mold?
thx, Mike

just chiming in, roughly 2 years too late, haha. but i find that if you use any type of resin with amazing mold rubber it gets sticky. ive used pro marine supply epoxy resin, alumilite amazing clear cast, art resin, ice resin, and envirotex. all have always come out sticky and tacky on the spots rhat have been in contact with the mold. haven't been able to find a fix, so ive had to stop using amazing mold rubber

I've had the clears come out a little tacky with both the putty and the liquid types of silicone. The way I fixed it was to leave them in a little longer and/or keep them warm. The sticky-ness will go away once they hit a full cure and can be de-molded.
I just did some clear castings with an old HS-3 mold and kept them near a warm spot and after a full 24 hours they came out with no stickiness at all. Though it might have been the age of the mold and/or the fact that it was of the HS series that could be the deciding factor. I had four molds of four different sizes, I warmed only the two smallest ones and poured all four at the same time. Then I kept them in a warm spot for 24 hours before de-molding and had no stickiness at all.
