Hello, I need to make some samples of rear car lamps. I was looking at the Alumilite Water Clear and it looks quite nice, but it is not clear if it can be pigmented. What I need is optically clear red (for the next project also amber).
Of course the material should be hard enough and resistant to UV
Thanks

Good Morning Emanuel,
Water Clear and Alumilite Clear both produce crystal clear castings. They are both used to make clear or tinted castings of all kinds, including lenses. Castings that are less than 1/8" thick we advise you to preheat the mold prior to pouring the resin into your silicone mold. It is required in pieces less than 1/8" to do a post-curing at 150 degrees F. To achieve "bubble free" castings it is highly advised that you deair it by using vacuum or pressure equipment. On our website there is a tutorial on the tail light lens application with and without equipment.
Emanuel of the 2 urethane clear resins the Water Clear is the most UV resistant, the Alumilite Clear is the hardest. The technical specifications are listed on the website for your convenience. We have all of the primary colors of dyes to use and create the color/shade you want to achieve.
Best,
Carol
