Hi.......I recently got some omoo silicone to make a lot of duplicates of some fishing plugs.... plugs are very basic, cylindrical with a taper towards tail and angled nose with a little concave in it......... The problem I have with the omoo is that my master has the eyes bored out with a forstner bit and after 1 to 2 pours that area (nub) in mold always tears off no matter how careful I am ......even with mold release............
Is the Aluminite prone to doing this too or is it going to solve my tearout problem............? Any advise is appreciated.......

Couple potential things ... first the tear strength of that material is around 40 ppi. Alumilite's High Strength 2 which is what most people use for their plug molds has a tear of 145 ppi. The High Strength 1, 2, of 3 would be much stronger for the application and hold up much better. The only difference is in the High Strength 1, 2, and 3 is the hardness. The 1 is the stiffest (40A), 3 is softest (10A) and 2 is in the middle (25A).
Something to simply get you by for now would be to possibly smear the bored out eye area with a thin layer of Vaseline. This will lube that particular area up and should provide enough release to hopefully remove it without tearing it.
