I was casting Alumilite Clear slow setting. I poured off part of the mixture into two containers to add colors to swirl in. The colors went to the bottom of the mold so that the bottom 1/2 of the blank has the vivid colors instead of being through out the pour. I did swirl it with mixing stick after pouring in colors. How do I get the swirls evenly thru out the whole blank?
Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff...Did you thoroughly mix in the color before you poured? It sounds like you needed too mix the color in longer, combining both A ans B before you pour and making sure it is thoroughly mixed with A and B together-at least 2 minutes, and longer if you are doing anything sizeable. If you get the color sinking to the bottom from this process something isn't right and you need too talk too Alumilite.

I thought that I did but new to casting and I may have rushed the color mix. A and B were mixed well. I will try mixing the colors a little longer on the next pours. Thanks for your help

What colors or dyes did you use? Were they Alumilite's?
The Slow Clear has an open time of approximately 12 min. This is quite a bit of time for the dye, if not mixed, in to settle to the bottom as they are not the exact same specific gravity.
