Hello, So I’ve been doing resin (Epoxy) for over a year now. I got pull after pull after pull. Then all of a sudden, my molds were withering. brand new molds would last 10 pulls and that has been consistent, 10 to a mold be it my mold I made myself or one I bought in from elsewhere. At first, I had someone tell me it was how I made my molds. This can’t be though, because even ones I’ve bought in are doing it. Basically, the pink silicone turns white and then it sticks, mold release agent or not. Something has changed. I’m wondering if it is my resin, has something changed in it that it is killing my silicone? I can’t fathom what would cause my molds to suddenly only get 10 pulls. That does seem strange. Are you using the Amazing Clear Cast? Nothing has changed in that or our High Strength silicones or the Amazing Mold Rubber (the only pink silicones have in our line).
You mentioned mold release? You also mentioned you've been casting for over a year now ... has you part/s changed. Were they different castings than the ones that lasted longer ... bigger, smaller, more or less mass?? How about anything with your process ... warming the mold, how long you leave them in the mold prior to demolding, pressure casting, or any other elements or factors that have changed?
