Hello, I've been asked to make a mold of an image on an altar. I would be making the mold from an image that is horizontal and probably 3'x3'. The image is a carving, from wood, that is painted and the altar is approx. 100 years old. Can this product be used for such a project? Any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would use the Mold Putty 15. It is a two part putty that you simply mix and press over the original. It should not affect the altar or paint. BUT if the paint is old or porous, it is possible the putty may pull some small areas of the paint. I'd also recommend doing a small test in a corner prior to mixing the entire batch.
