As the subject line reads, I am making some walking sticks out of cedar and am thinking about using the Bar Top Coating as a final finish for them when done. Has anyone tried this yet or have any other ideas? I was considering using this because the branches we have that are going to be used have some very unique spiraling where vines were grown into the wood, and whatever I use as a top coating will settle into these deep valleys. Hoping to keep it smooth and crystal clear. Thoughts?

Raymond,
Amazing Clear Cast is a great durable coat for many different applications. I have not heard to date of anyone doing a walking stick, but can't see where it wouldn't work when all instructions are followed. Avoiding moisture on the surface, sometimes wood stays moist for sometime with out dehydration. Keep away from water or water based products. Warming the product prior to use by placing in a bowl of very warm water (caps on tight, drying bottles off before opening) thins the viscosity and makes for an easier application of coating your pieces, along with helping the curing process. Make sure that you are measuring 1:1 by volume (not weight) and mix it well so there can be a complete and uniform cure.
If you have never used the product, test is best on a small sample piece to get your ultimate results on your final project.
Regards,
Carol

Thank you for the reply, I will have to order some and begin playing around with it on some scrap pieces.
